BEAUTY, CONTEMPLATION,
AND FORMATION FOR BECOMING HUMAN
The Glory of God is a human being fully alive.
St. Irenaeus of Lyon
Why We Exist
Our current cultural context has led us to look back to early Christian communities to see what they knew about living the way of Christ. How did they respond to sin, the world, and the devil?
Many of these saints left the world behind to learn what it means to be human. They were not interested in becoming something better, but in what it means to be. They learned what it means to be human as God intended, to become as Jesus is, to live His way. We exist for that exact purpose. To become as Jesus is, to become human, to live the Divine Life.
Come, learn to live it with us.
What We Believe
Ora House is a contemplative community formed by the Patristic, Celtic, and Monastic communities that sought to safeguard the Faith once delivered. We do not seek to be a new or distinct version of Christianity, but to follow the way of faith once delivered to all the saints.
Participation
In Holy Scripture, the Greek word koinonia is translated as “participation” in 1 Corinthians 10:16 and “fellowship” in Acts 2:42. From this, God reveals that together, the people of God have been given opportunities to participate in His Divine Life. Ora House is interested in developing these opportunities to help us participate in the Divine Life together.
Contributors
Ora House has been blessed to have a group of friends building it from its origin. The heart is the same, but each person brings something different to the table and has offered many hours of volunteer work to see this community begin. We are thankful for every person listed and so many others not yet connected. We know this is just the beginning.
